G. Standen

Mrs Gloria Mary Standen, of Wingerworth, has died at Ashgate Hospice, aged 78.

Born at Matlock and a resident of Wingerworth for 53 years, she was a retired shop assistant.

Mrs Standen was involved with the WI and Townswomens Guild. Her interests included history, Egyptology, charity fundraising, swimming and walking.

She leaves widower Richard, daughter Sue, son Antony and grandchildren Mark and Paul.

No service is to take place, Mrs Standen has donated her body to medical research.
