Lauretta Risorto
Chesterfield
Lauretta Risorto, Chesterfield, has died on December 27, 2022, with her family by her side, aged 84.
Born in S. Giovanni in Fiore(CS), Italy, she moved to Chesterfield in 1962. Lauretta worked initially at BTH Sheffield Road before moving to Robinson's in the bobbin mill. Later in life she was the cleaner at Pickford Travel and Madins Organs on West Bars. Her final working years were spent at St Joseph's Convent School.
A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and kind hearted friend to many. Lauretta was gifted in the kitchen and maintained the wonderful food traditions from the region of Calabria. She was an active parishioner of the local Catholic Church.
Lauretta leaves her husband Benito, children Saverio, and his wife Sarah and Vittorio, and his wife Rachel, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Requiem mass takes place at The Church of the Annunciation, Spencer Street on January 17, 2023, at 11am followed by burial at Boythorpe Cemetery.
