Mr Bernard Leslie Deakin, known as Les, of Chesterfield has passed away at Ashgate Hospice, aged 72.
Born in Sheffield and a resident of the Chesterfield area for 40 years, Les was a retired teacher.
His interests included walking, climbing mountains, his allotment, dancing, cruising and walking the dog. He was anti war and a civil rights activist.
Les leaves his wife Susan, son Andrew, daughter Rachel, daughter-in-law Jo, son-in-law Mark, grandchildren Aubree and Rylee.
The funeral service takes place on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 4.10pm.
Funeral directors: Coop Funeralcare, 276 Newbold Road, Newbold, Chesterfield (01246 211041).
