Mrs Marlene Platts of Tibshelf, Alfreton has passed away at home on December 5, 2025, aged 83.
Born in Newton and a lifelong local resident, Marlene was a school kitchen assistant until 1991, when she retired due to ill health.
Her interests included travelling, watching football and tennis, gardening and flower arranging.
Marlene leaves her husband Maurice, son Adrian and David and 17 grandchildren/great-grandchildren.
The funeral service takes place on Monday, January 5, 2026, Amber Valley Crematorium, at 1pm.
