Mona Emily Land

Mrs Mona Emily Land, aged 91, previously of Brimington and Hollingwood, peacefully passed away at Kington Court Community Care Centre, Herefordshire, on 28 January 2018.
On leaving school, Mona worked for Nash's newsagents in the village, then as manageress of a dry cleaner's in Chesterfield. For almost 40 years, alongside her husband Gordon, they ran the family grocery business, A Land & Son on High Street, Brimington, retiring in 1984.
Mona was an active member of St Michaels and All Angels, Brimington, the PCC and local history group. Other interests included history, needlework and crochet and caravan holidays, especially those happy years spent fruit picking in Tiptree, Essex. During the last seven years, precious time has been spent close to her family in Hereford.
Mona leaves a daughter Margaret, grandchildren Simon and Helen and great grandsons, Allaby, Riley, Charlie and Harry.
The funeral service took place on Thursday, 8 February 2018 at Hereford Crematorium. A Memorial Service has been arranged for Thursday, 12 April 2018 at 1.00 pm at St Michael and All Angels Church, Brimington followed by interment in Brimington Cemetery. A gathering will then take place at Brimington Church Hall.
