Mr Richard Marshall
Mr Richard Stanley Marshall (Dick) died at home, aged 95.
Born in India, and educated at the Lawrence Royal Military School in the Himalayas, he moved to Sheffield, aged 16, and joined the Army, aged 18, serving in the Royal Signals before the Parachute Regiment. After leaving the service, he worked all his life as a salesman and sales manager in the steel industry. After retirement, he worked at Chatsworth in the sandwich department.
First married in 1957 to Rita, who died, aged 42; he married Diana in 1978. Dick lived in Holymoorside for 50 years. He loved travelling, walking with his dogs, driving in the Peak District and following his beloved Sheffield Wednesday. He enjoyed sport and keeping active, doing his last parachute jump, aged 81. Dick was devoted to his family and felt blessed by his many grandchildren. He leaves wife Diana, family Debbie and Simon, Richard and Carolyn, Ruth and Mark, and his grandchildren.
The funeral service takes place at 11.30am, on September 3, at Chesterfield Crematorium.
