Mr Richard Wright
Old Tupton
Mr Richard Geoffrey Wright of Old Tupton, has passed away at The Green Nursing Home, Hasland, aged 82.
Born in Sheffield and a resident locally for 54 years, Richard was a Surveyor, before moving into lecturing, then was a Teacher for 25 years at Handsworth Christian School, Sheffield.
He was a founder and active member of Holmgate Church, he loved music, playing the guitar and piano, and also sang in several choirs. He enjoyed sport, especially football and cricket, and was delighted to have been at Wembley in 1966, when England won the World Cup.
Richard leaves his wife Margaret, daughter Andrea, sons Neil and David, granddaughters Anna, Lucy and Mae, also Kay who was like a granddaughter to him.
The funeral service takes place on Monday, February 10, 2025, Holmgate Evangelical Church, Valley Road, at 12.30pm, followed by interment at Ashover Cemetery.
Any donations in Richard's memory will go to Siloam Christian Ministries and Sightsavers (R.C.S.B).

So sorry to hear the news of Richard. I have fond memories of working with him and he taught both my children at HCS.
