Roger was a work colleague of mine when he worked at Simon Engineering in Stockport. When that company relocated its HQ to London Roger was instrumental in my becoming his successor in the role he had so professionally performed. He and Irene were very kind to me when I visited Chesterfield a couple of times and I owe Roger my career progression. A sure gentleman, knowledgeable, kind and considerate to colleagues and everyone he came into contact with. My thoughts and those of my wife Kate are with Irene and all the Freestone family at this sad time.
