Roy Tress Obituary
Born in Ardwick, Manchester and a resident of the area for 44 years, he taught at several schools in Doncaster and Manchester before he became Headteacher of Middlecroft School, Staveley in 1976, where he worked until his retirement in 1991.
He was a member of Cavendish Masonic Lodge and served in many offices, including Master of the Lodge and Lodge Almoner for ten years. Mr Tress was also a member of Scarsdale Probus and the Foresters Friendly Society.
In retirement Mr Tress enjoyed photography, walking and many holidays in the UK, the Lake District being a particular favourite destination, and latterly cruise holidays.
Mr Tress leaves a widow Elsie, son Ian, daughter Alison, grandchildren Jacqueline and Michelle.
A short service will be held at Chesterfield Crematorium, on Monday December 14, 2020, at 3.50pm.
No flowers, with donations to the Masonic Charitable Foundation.

Mr Tress was a lovely one off Headteacher while Myself and my Brother was at Middlecroft secondary school in the 80's
He was a brilliant Headteacher, smiley, funny and always had a smile for you
