Clay Cross
Mr Stephen Sydney Mellor of Clay Cross has passed away at Ashgate Hospice, aged 81.
Born in Stoke on Trent and a resident locally for 62 years, Stephen worked at East Midlands Electricity Board and later at Chesterfield College, as a Lecturer, until taking early retirement in 1994 due to poor health.
His interests included spending time with family, fishing, watching football and gardening.
Stephen leaves his wife Marjorie, daughter Kim, sons Craig and Dean, grandchildren Natalie, Jack, Lily, Josh, Freya and Max.
The funeral service takes place on Friday, September 12, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 1.30pm. Afterwards at Bateman's Mill.

Top Bloke was Steve, How Ironic, He was one of my Lecturers at Chesterfield tec Early 80's. I am sat reading this as I am now sat at my office desk at work and guess what... An Electrical lecturer for the Gov of South Australia. Adelaide. Been here for 22 years but never forgot Steve Mellor, and his side kic Mr Thompson. RIP Boss.....
