I remember Mr Petit shouting encouragement when doing cross country several decades ago when I was a pupil at Westwood. He was also full of praise when I did ok in the race and I never forgot those kind words, seems like a little thing but it has stuck with me.
I hope the family can take some consolation in knowing he was an inspiration to many.
RIP Sir
