Miss Valerie Dannatt passed away peacefully in Amberley Nursing Home, Calow, on March 9, 2025, aged 73.
Val, who was single, leaves a sister Margaret, nephews Paul, Dean and
David and nieces Dawn, Mandy and Karen.
Val was born in Pilsley. She had learning difficulties and had lived in care accommodation in Alfreton and Brimington and Calow before moving into the nursing home last autumn.
She loved painting and drawing and other activities at local day centres. She enjoyed meals out, especially at the Lock Keeper in Chesterfield, and trips to Chatsworth, Hardwick and Bakewell. Val also liked reading and loved animals, especially dogs.
A funeral service is due to take place at Chesterfield Crematorium, at 12.30pm, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, with donations in Val's memory being forwarded to the Alzheimer's Society. A wake following the service will be held at the Lock Keeper.

I remember Valerie from when she used to attend Parkwood Day Centre. Memories of Valerie always being chatty & welcoming. Sorry to hear of her passing. Condolences to her family and friends.
