Ms Wendy Northedge (nee Watkinson), of Loundsley Green, passed away peacefully in Chesterfield Royal Hospital on December 16, 2021, aged 77.
Born in Chesterfield, Wendy was a lifelong resident of the district. She grew up in Grassmoor and lived in Old Whittington and Spital before moving to Loundsley Green 20 years ago.
She leaves daughters Wendy, with partner Robert, and Jean, grandchildren Rhianon, Darren, Nikki and Ben, great-grandchildren Michael, Becca, Josh, Freddie, Mia and Alfie, step great-grandchildren Zosha, Ella and Jake, and first husband Tony. She was pre-deceased by son Michael.
Wendy had worked as an auxiliary nurse at the former Scarsdale Hospital and had also been a cleaner and bar worker.
Wendy loved family life and liked socialising at home with friends and neighbours. She enjoyed playing bingo, day trips to Bridlington, looking after her pet Jack Russell terriers and watching films, especially musicals, and old episodes of Tipping Point on television.
A funeral service is due to take place at Chesterfield Crematorium at 11.30am, on Monday, January 10, 2022, with donations given in honour and memory of Wendy being forwarded to the Royal hospital.
