Alexander Mackenzie Obituary

MACKENZIE Alexander William (Loanhead) Born in Edinburgh, January 24, 1922, Alec died peacefully, at home on October 14, 2012 aged 90 years. Alec joined the RAF days after his 18th birthday and saw service in the Far East during WW11. A compositor and then journalist to trade, he was with the Scottish Daily Mail in Edinburgh and then The Herald in Glasgow until he retired. Proud and much loved husband to Jessie (nee Lister), father to David, Alex and Jacqueline, grandpa to nine, great-grandpa to ten, he was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by all. Funeral Service at Loanhead Parish Church at 11 am on Tuesday, October 23, followed by burial at Loanhead New Cemetery at 11.45 am. A collection will be taken after the service in aid of Alzheimer Scotland.
