Beryl Pink Obituary
Beryl May Pink, age 89, died on Monday afternoon, Nov. 11, 2002, at UPMC Passavant, McCandless Twp. Born in Indiana Co., Pa., on March 29, 1913, she was the daughter of the late E. Ross and Hazel J. (Gromley) Hazlett. She was a member of the Mars United Presbyterian Church, and had been a volunteer at St. John Lutheran Home in Mars for many years. She is survived by a son, James Robert Pink of Mars; two daughters, Janet Mae Fogal of Hilliard, Ohio, and Mrs. Bud (Doris) Smelscer of Mars; one sister, Thelma Walter of Canoga Park, Calif.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Pink, whom she married on Dec. 5, 1934, and who died on Aug. 27, 1999; one brother, Melvin R. Hazlett; and one sister, Joy Schrift. Friends received at the MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME INC., 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert B. McCrumb II, pastor of the Mars United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless. Memorials may be made to Quality Emergency Medical Services or to the Mars United Presbyterian Church.
