Isabel FARLEY Obituary
FARLEY Isabel
(nee Bigham) (Merchiston) Peacefully, at Ellen's Glen House Hospital, on Friday, February 13, 2015, Isabel, aged 89 years. Loving wife of the late Thomas Gulland, dear mum of Roger and Susan, much loved nan Belle to Heather and a special mother-in-law to Hazel. A funeral service will be held at Mortonhall Crematorium, Pentland Chapel, on Monday, February 23, at 11.30 am. There will be a retiral collection in aid of British Lung Foundation.

A long time ago
Thank you Christine for your kind words and lovely memories. I too remember sitting in the large wooden chair in the hall when it moved with my grandparents from Limekilns to Trinity in Edinburgh in the mid 1960's. Roger Farley (Isabel's son)

Along time ago
My mother, Hilda Irvine (neè Foster) worked in a wallpaper shop next door to Mr and Mrs Bigham's ironmongery in Dunfermline. They were so kind to her. My father was a brutal man at times following the war and occasionally I was sent for 'refuge' to Mr and Mrs Bigham's at Limekilns where they had a lovely house. I remember loving to sit in a big old wooden chair that had in the hall. This was in the late 1940s. My mother thought Isabel was the most beautiful girl she had seen and I remeber her having a beautiful photograph of her. I did visit Mrs Bigham in Edinburgh a few times but I can't remember much of Isabel. They were lovely people.
