Such sad news of Arnott's passing. He was such an amazing person, a mentor, a story teller and great company and I feel so privileged that he was part of my village. I have many cherished memories that go back to my childhood days and continue up to recent years, all bring a smile to my face and a twing to my heart.
He held a special place in my dad's heart as well, like a cousin. The adventures and stories of the wee lads of Argyle Crescent, that Tom Bottomley mentioned, were recounted many a time in our family, and Arnott often had a special role in the punchline. May Heather and the family find strength during these tough days to celebrate all of Arnott's the amazing achievements and adventures.

There was a group of us all youngsters played together around Argyle Crescent, Joppa during WW2. The group was Arnott Kidd, Terry Gaffney, James and Sandy Russell, David Carmichael, Stuart Gordon, Alan & Stuart Murray, Robin Bond and myself, Tom Bottomley. After National Service we all went different ways in life. Arnott was a good pal for us all and I am sad to read of his passing. I wont manage his funeral since I now live in South Ayrshire but I send my condolences to his wife and family and my best wishes to those of that list still alive.
