Alex and family, I am so sad to see that Eleanor has passed. I was searching for her on facebook last night and came across her obituary. What a shock. I have often thought of you all over the years and am so sorry we didn't keep in touch. Fond memories of Eleanor and I sharing a room with Ethel and Doug in Edinburgh. Also great memories of Stranraer with Frances, is she still around and if so where? ken and I have recently retired to Newton Stewart after 43 years in Edinburgh, so we're back to the Stranraer area again after all this time. Our thoughts are with you, God bless

We go back a long way, walking Jonathan and Lara together, picking flowers, having picnics, packing blackberries and wild raspberries. Birthday parties, first communions, dinner parities. Laughing, listening to music. Jumble sales for fundraising. Talking poetry and books. Eleanor and Alec's 20th wedding anniversary dinner--why 20 -just because we felt like it--and you never know. Eleanor becoming vegetarian, and searching for recipes. Eating at Pierre Lapin in Edinburgh to see vegetarian food could be tasty.Visiting Jonathan's school to be in Edinburgh--it'll be interesting, yes, a very interesting experience. Laughing because Eleanor had wanted Jonathan to become an altar boy, but him being allergic to incense.Visiting her Mother , a very sweet lady.Eleanor pregnant with Kerri and worried Jonathan was being bullied after school--so I lurked and saw and followed. I wonder if a little boy--now big--in Larbert, still thinks I'm omnipotent? We looked out for each other. Then the table and benches, found in a second hand place in the middle of nowhere. Urging Alec to come and look, instead of buying a shed. She'll love it, I said, and she did. Memories to cherish
