Peter was my mother´s cousin, and I got to know him later in life after my mother died. I have happy memories of staying at Stratford House with my husband and exploring Ely and the North Norfolk Coast. He cooked me lovely breakfasts and provided huge bowls of strawberries freshly picked each morning. We phoned each other fairly regularly and I loved to hear his accent when he rang and said, "it´s your mad cousin here" and laughed. Latterly I visited him for the day, once with my niece and once with my daughter. This photo was taken on that last visit in September 2023, when we walked up to the orchard to pick plums and apples, accompanied by Holly who I used to say was his blonde girlfriend. I shall miss him.
