Whiteley
Arthur Brian
Known as Brian
Originally from Ripponden, Brian passed peacefully at the age of 95 in Marietta, Georgia, USA
on 16 December 2025,
with his loving wife Tracy by his side. He is preceded in
death by his father Joseph Whiteley, his mother Hilda (Gee)
Whiteley, and his older brother, John Whiteley. Surviving
family members are his five children: Caroline Whiteley
Aldred, Anne Whiteley Hunt,
Iain Whiteley, Richard Whiteley,

great-grandchildren.
Brian attended Heath Grammar School in Halifax, becoming fluent in French as well as German. At University of Manchester, he graduated with a degree in Modern Languages.
He then joined the British Army as Officer in the Royal Horse Artillery. On leaving the Regular Army,
he joined the Territorial Army as a Troop Commander in the 101 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery.
After Army service, Brian began a career as Operations Director of food manufacturing plant operations. Working for General Foods' International Division, he oversaw production of major food brands worldwide. He lived in
Germany, Brazil, and the US, and travelled the world. But he was always a Brit at heart, and deeper than that, a Yorkshireman!
He loved fish and chips, a good leg of lamb, and yorkshire pudding with gravy. Anyone who met him never forgot him because of his engaging personality and his zest for life.
