Derek passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at
his beloved home on
Saturday 7th February 2026. The devoted Husband of the late Irene for 61 years. Dearly loved Father of Joanne and Stephan. Loving Grandad of Gareth and Christy, Gemma and Brian. Loving Great Grandad of Maddie, Abbie, Brayden, Harper and Willow. Brother of Kevin and Jean and Uncle of Mandy and Debra. Nephew of Jean and Uncle of Paul and Maggie. Brother in law to Valerie. Father in law of Gary. Special friend of Carolyn.
Faithful friend of Rocco the dog. Teacher and true friend to so many. The funeral will be held on Thursday 5th March 2026 at Park Wood Crematorium, Elland at 12.45pm.
