HOYLE KENNETH On August 10, 2009, peacefully at Southfield Court Nursing Home, Huddersfield, previously of Halifax, Kenneth, aged 84 years. Former English Master at Crossley & Porter School, Halifax. Much loved husband of the late Barbara, dearly loved father of Susan, Alan, Wendy and the late Karen and a dear grandfather. Would friends please meet for funeral service and committal, at Huddersfield Crematorium, at 12 noon, Friday, August 14. No flowers by request please, but donations in lieu if so desired to Medicines-Sans-Frontiers, for which a donation plate will be available at the crematorium. So many years now have passed, but I still remember Ken and Barbara so fondly from days at St Peter's College Saltley. I can still hear their voices in my head, and Barbara discussing history; her work on the 1926 General Strike. Times pass, memories hold.

The Best of Men
I knew Ken (and his wife Barbara) for just three years as a trainee teacher at St Peter's College, Saltley. Ken was a mature student and he was like a kindly uncle to all us much younger fellow students. He was a wise, reassuring presence and great fun to be with. My most sincere and very belated condolences go to his family and friends. He was an inspiration and a wonderful ray of light in a sometimes grey world.
