Simon Haywood
On 19thAugust 2025, Simon Haywood Dedrick, retired GP, died peacefully in hospital after a long illness, aged 63. He was once a popular doctor in Halifax and Bradford. Beloved son of Jill Dedrick, he also leaves behind his siblings, Frances and Adam; his nephews, Michael, Sam and Felix, and niece, Chloë; and his former wife, Joanna.
The funeral service will be held at 11.15am on Wednesday 24thSeptember at Park Wood Crematorium, Park Road, Elland. Refreshments will be held thereafter at Stod Fold, Dean Clough Mills 2, Halifax.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Erdheim-Chester Disease Global Alliance (www.erdheim-chester.org) would be much appreciated. Any enquiries should be directed to Emotions Funeral Service,

I was privileged to help look after Simon in the later stages of his illness.
I will miss him as he was such a likeable fellow and we became friends over time. My colleagues at Driving Miss Daisy would like to send sincere condolences to his family.
