Tony you were a true friend. Our football banter between Man U and Chelsea will always remain with me. I know you cherished the Chelsea mug I bought you. You will be missed . RIP my friend. My heart felt condolences to your family.

Every day working with Tony (or Manic as many of us knew him) was filled with laughter, the occasional naughty word and the ability to find time for a brew even in the most pressured environments. A strong leader, a good teacher - and most importantly a friend. He will be missed by many, but forgotten by none.

A true original sometimes misunderstood but always had a heart of gold under his police uniform. Taken too soon. Chelsea will be lost without your devoted support.

Tony, still can´t believe you are no longer with us. You were a friend and colleague for so many years. The non stop banter on fb became part of my daily ritual. You were one of a kind, spoke your mind and were passionate about your beliefs. RIP dear Tony

What a Character taken far too early. Tony was a gentleman and had a fantastic dry wit and sense of humour. RIP fella and the world is a going to miss a unique guy. I fondly remember 46 years on our trips to training school and all the fun we had.

I honestly cannot believe you are no longer with us. You are a stand out memory for me as my Sergeant in Watford, along with the many, many moments of humour, surprise, and all the unique behaviours that we all came to expect. Truly one of a kind. I feel so grateful to have shared part of your story. May you rest in eternal peace. With love to all the family and all affected by your early departure. God bless TM (aka Manic ) x

Manic, or as your mum said at a BBQ at your house, his name is Anthony as you state in the book you wrote 'The essential heart of a Leader' but that didn't deter me, the last words I said to you 'Manic behave! We had many of ups and downs, many stories, you will never be forgotten and no doubt the 'stories' will be told for years to come. You are legend RIP x
