Judy BROWN Obituary

BROWN.  Laxey Dog Club is sad to announce the passing of their Secretary and Founder Judy Brown. Judy founded the club, with a friend, in 1982 to promote the responsible ownership of dogs on the Isle of Man. She remained Secretary for over 40 years, giving her time freely and voluntarily and in that time trained many owners to train their puppies. The community also benefited from her charitable acts. She organised an annual Fun Dog Show, the proceeds from which were donated to many Island charities. During these years Judy also worked for the MSPCA and vet practices and volunteered with Pets for Therapy visiting Glen House Residential Home in Laxey. The Club ran courses for over 40 weeks a year, offering puppies and improvers basic obedience and a wealth of advice from Judy, who had bred, shown and raised many dogs herself. These included German Shepherds, Shelties and Papillon. Judy will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and the current Laxey Dog Club Committee will endeavour to continue this work in her memory.
