I was very sad to read that David had died. I first got to know him through a mutual friend, Adrian Pilgrim, who also sadly died some years ago now. They were both Manx speakers and used to listen to them conversing in Manx, very often if we met him on our walks. He was also such a wonderful watercolour artist, I remember watching his style grow and change over the decades. He was also a lovely man, very kind and considerate.
I also got to know his son Graham, when he came to work at the Government Analyst´s Laboratory in the 1980s. I send my condolences to Graham and all of the family.

David was my mother Maureen's brother and was the kindest and most funny person anyone could ever have the pleasure of meeting. I will miss him a lot because I was very close to him and will always love him. Stewart Leech
