DAVID SLATER Obituary

DAVID SLATER Peacefully at home on 15th March 2026, aged 93 years. Beloved husband of Janet and a much-loved father to Matthew, Vicky, and Mandy, and step-father to Marie. Dearly loved father of the late Dan and Adam. Father -in - Law of Colette, Geoff, David and Stefan. A proud grandfather and great-grandfather, David will be missed by all his family and those who knew him. David dedicated his life to his family and his farm, working tirelessly over the years with quiet strength and unwavering commitment. A life well lived, and a man deeply loved. The funeral service will take place at Trinity Church, Douglas, on Friday 27th March at 9.45am, followed by a private cremation and a Wake to celebrate the life of David is being held at the Douglas British Legion. Family flowers only please; donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, may be made to Hospice Isle of Man. All enquiries to Kingswood Funeral Home, Kingswood Grove, Douglas. Tel: 661611.

Yesterday

It had been snowing heavily and I was dealing with a flat tyre on the road side, as I was bent over I looked around and saw a big pair of boots as David stood over me, he had heard that I was changing the wheel in a blizzard and decided to help, I didn´t ask he just came along, he was a good man and I´m happy now he has some peace.
