Stephen KINRADE Obituary

KINRADE. Stephen - Steve - passed away peacefully on 21st September 2025 at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow, Essex, after a courageous fight, surrounded by his daughters, son-in-law Kevin, and grandson Calum. Beloved husband of Jan (Kathleen Jeanette), treasured Dad to Alison, Kathryn and Caroline, funny, wise and generous Granddad to Sian, Lucia, Anwen, Calum, Connall, Roisin and Eren, devoted Great Granddad to Lottie, Bonnie, Caicey and Finnley, and dearly loved brother to Elisabeth, Frank and Edwin. Born in Castletown, Isle of Man, in 1935. Steve loved the Island deeply. Although much of his life was spent on the mainland, he remained immensely proud of his Manx heritage - a loyal and true Manxman. He delighted in sharing stories of his life on the Island, his days as a seafarer in the Merchant Navy, and his career as a Marine Engineer. Just as he missed the Isle of Man and his life at sea, he will be greatly missed by all who loved him - his family and many friends on the Island, in the USA, and in Loughton, Essex, where he made his home. A service to celebrate his life will take place on Wednesday, 23rd October at 12.00pm at GreenAcres Burial Park, North Weald, Essex, followed by committal, where he will join our mum in everlasting peace. In accordance with his wishes, no flowers please. Donations, if desired, can be made to The Mission to Seafarers (www.missiontoseafarers.org) or the YMCA Wirral, Merseyside (www.ymcawirral.org.uk). Sleep tight dearest Steve - Husband, Dad, Granddad, Great Granddad, Brother, Uncle, Friend.

Dear Steve, it was with utter sadness that we received the news of your passing last month.
Our deepest condolences go to your immediate loved ones at this time of grief.
I will always remember you with great fondness and with much appreciation for the benevolence that you bestowed upon my family whilst we were living in Loughton and taking care of my grandma during her latter years. I will never forget the wonderful dinner you and Jan took us all out to at the old drill house in Essex - along with the mentoring advice that you constantly gave me whilst in my teens and making important choices in life.
The same goes for your loving wife., Jan, who meant so much to my mother who appreciated her friendship immensely .
Your kindness and generosity speaks volumes of the kind person you were and will always be remembered as.
Rest in peace dear Steve and with God`s blessings upon your soul along with your beloved Jan of whom you are now reunited with
Here is lighting a candle in loving memory of you and Jan.
