I was in college with Tony in Aberdeen and kept in touch with him periodically over the years. Having had no reply to my last couple of emails, I am saddened to find this notice; especially given the time since his passing.

His very unique humour and witty banter will be missed. His greatly worded stories about the ups and downs of our similar lives as rotational oil workers were always looked forward too. He had spoken over the latter year or two of visiting family in Ayr more often and I had mentioned it would be good to have him continue further north and visit myself some time.

We never did manage to arrange this. Being busy with the arrival of my first child meant I last spoke with him in late 2023; gutted I was not in contact with him during his last few months.

I never met his parents, but I hope they see this message; that Tony was a great guy.

Ross from Inverness.

I loved a few doors down from Anthony and loved hearing him playing his piano drifting out of the window on a summer evening.

He was a unique soul who would spontaneously jet wash 5 back yards and wish he hadn´t, drowned out the ranting of a former neighbour in the garden with Heavy Metal, shared his exotic travel tales while sat in the back of my clapped out campervan while I cleaned it and just made the road a better place to be.

He will be so missed by so many of us.

I will cherish my memories of Anthony, who helped enhance incredibly dull geography lessons at Settle High School with good humour. It's difficult to process that the last time we had some drinks together was over 15 years ago in Skipton and it would also be the final time we spoke. I am deeply saddened by the passing of my friend and regret that I never kept in touch. Rest in peace Anthony, you will be remembered fondly.
