On 14th April 2024, passed
away peacefully at Hillcroft Nursing Home, Galgate,
aged 96 years.
Reunited with his late wife Kathleen and his late brother
Syd. Loving father of Mark,
Roger and Guy, father-in-law
of Ellen and Julie, and doting grandfather of Jack, Rachel,
Beth, Anna, Harry, Charlotte
and James.
Will be greatly missed by all
his family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at Beetham Hall Crematorium
on Tuesday 7th May 2024
at 12.30pm.

Ironically, today would have been Derek's 97th birthday, and before sending birthday wishes, I thought to search his name on the internet and was saddened to find his obituary. Derek was a very dear family friend, who was always so cheerful - never at a loss for a funny anecdote or a smart remark. He was also a true gentleman, well-educated and well-spoken. He visited our house often, usually on Sundays, to enjoy Sunday dinner.
My deepest sympathies to all his family.
RIP, Dirk. Kath has waited a long time for you, and now you are in her loving arms, so enjoy your Heavenly Birthday with her.
