John Laurence
(aka Parky)
Time has called for the man who fixed Morecambe's clock tower.
Following a long battle with ill health, John Laurence Parkinson (aka Parky), previously of
32 Hamilton Road and the former Port Superintendent at Heysham, sadly passed away on 3rd October 2025 at 89 years of age.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday 24th October 2025 at 12.30pm at Lancaster Crematorium, Powder House Lane, Lancaster, LA2 6AD.
Everyone is then welcome to join in a celebration of Parky's life in his beloved Morecambe,
with food and drinks at the
Aspect Lounge, Lothersdale Hotel, 320 Marine Road, LA4 5AA.
Family flowers only please,
but donations are welcome for Head and Neck Cancer UK.

Met this lovely gentleman about 18 months ago when he came into Next Morecambe. He told me all about him getting the clock tower fixed. He was a joy to speak too. Victoria x
