Those of us who served at RAF Barton Hall in the 60's and 70's remember Roy as a quiet and unassuming civilian who worked in the auto triangulation section. In reality he was a quite brilliant electronics engineer who used his expertise on a range of electronic projects nationwide. One which immediately comes to mind was the Joderal Bank facility. A true gentleman who was very highly respected by all those who knew and worked with him. Until recent years he was an annual attendee at the Barton Hall annual reunion. A few of us nicknamed his the Peter Pan of Barton Hall because he never seemed to age like the rest of us! Rest in Peace Roy. You will be sadly missed by all who knew you and will be included in our toaste to missing friends in April.

Wonderful gentleman, honest, kind and knowledgeable. Always a joy to be in his company. He will be missed so much by his old colleagues from his time at the Air Traffic Control Centre at Barton Hall and our reunions will never quite be the same without him Rest in Peace Roy.
