HORNSBY Terry 14 November 1939 - 1 July 2025 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Terry Hornsby, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, who passed away peacefully in the early hours of Tuesday 1 July, 2025, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn. His family were by his bedside in his final hours, reminiscing about old times, reminding him of their love and making him comfortable. Terry was the beloved husband of Marlene, who sadly died in June 2024, a loss he felt deeply every day. He was a loving father to Rozy, Ali and David, and a much-adored grandfather, affectionately known as Grandpa or Gramps to Harry, Samuel, Jess, Adam, Archie, Tom, and Ted. Terry's story is of a life well lived. Coming from humble beginnings he did well at school and was successful at work, being fortunate enough to retire early. In his retirement he enjoyed numerous holidays with friends and family. A long-standing member of King's Lynn Golf Club, Terry served with pride as both Captain and President. He was also an active member and past president of Probus and of the local Rotary Club, roles that reflected his commitment to community and service. A passionate reader and lively debater, he loved to engage in discussion and was always ready to share a story, insight, or anecdote. Terry will be remembered for his devotion to his family and friends, a sense of humour that was always bubbling under the surface and genuine interest in the people around him. Funeral Service at Mintlyn Crematorium on Monday, 21 July, 2025 at 3:15 pm. All who knew and loved Terry are welcome. Family flowers only please.
