Went to sleep for the last time on
13th January 2025,
aged 87 years.
Evelyn was the much-loved wife of Brian for 62 years, mum to Jayne and Sarah, mother-in-law to Duncan
and will be missed
more than words can express.
With a sunny smile, Evelyn will be greatly missed by her family, friends and carers, and everyone at the Memory Club at Brooklands.
Born in Gravesend in Kent, Evelyn moved with her family to Luton during World War II.
After marrying Brian, they set up the family home in Kensworth, Bedfordshire. Evelyn moved to Giffard Park in the late 80's, where she and Brian lived for 38 years.
Before she retired, Evelyn worked at
AGF Insurance in CMK.
Evelyn was on the committee of the Luton Festival of Dance for 42 years from its inception in 1976, and Chair for 38 years, and had an unwavering love of dance, especially modern, tap and song and dance and loved seeing festival participants go on to perform professionally in London's West End.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday 18th February 2025 at
The Church of St Peter and St Paul, Newport Pagnell at 1.00pm, followed by a burial at Ousebank Cemetery and Celebration of Life at The Swan Revived Hotel. All who knew Evelyn are welcome to attend.
Dressing smart for the occasion was Evelyn's mantra, therefore, we kindly ask that you dress for a funeral with dark jackets and ties for men and something fitting for a funeral for ladies. No jeans or trainers.
