He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at Grantham Crematorium on
Tuesday 28th October 2025, at 2.30pm.
Family flowers only.

A friend of my parents, Sheena and Ian, I found him to be a gentle giant - kindly and so nice to talk to. I met him a few times over the years.

We particularly appreciated Rob´s support while we were in Hong Kong. He excelled at maintaining our links with the home Survey and was tireless in his efforts to assist setting up further projects in support of the HK Survey. On a personal note, we valued his friendship over continued years.

Rob was a dear colleague and instrumental in getting our children full UK citizenship (ours were born in Kenya where I was part of Brian Hackman's BGS project for the UK Government). A great team man and wonderful company

As our Union representative, Rob worked tirelessly, and used all avenues, including Parliament, to ensure that the children of BGS geologists born overseas before the British Nationality Act of 1981 were able to claim full British citizenship. They are forever in his debt.

Rob was the Special One: the star player in the band of brothers: the BGS Overseas Division, whose members went where no one else had been. WE will never see the like of him again.
