I was a young Airman stationed with Al at Hahn Air Base, Germany. Though I wasn't in in his shop I got to go TDY with Al & he treated me as I was one of his own Airmen. I got to meet Al again when I was stationed at RAF Lakenheath when he was working for MWR. Wonderful guy!

I worked for Al and also knew him as a friend for many years at RAF Lakenheath. He was a great guy and liked by all. Rest in Peace Al.

Al was our sponsor when we were stationed at RAF Lakenheath. He met us at the plane on a friday around noon, took us to his house, gave us 5 quid, told us we were expected at the pub and said he was off to London for the weekend. Showed us to 50p coins stacked by the electric meter and said put in a coin when the power goes out and it will come back on. The start of a long and beautiful friendship with Al and later with Gillian. Prayers for family and R.I.P. Al.

Although we were cousins for nearly eighty years, only in the last twenty did I really get to know Al. I got to know a sensitive and caring man, and I enjoyed his company. I will surely think of him with a smile the next time I have oyster stew.
My condolences to Gill and her family.

Will sorely miss your cheerful and insightful emails, cousin, but I have so many fond memories of you, like fishing for tin fishes with tiny poles tipped with magnets while cooling off in galvanized tubs filled with water on a hot Indiana summer day (you pooped in the water) to my trip to the UK a few years ago with you and Gill in Corby, when we visited Windsor Castle, Sulgrave Manor, and numerous pubs. Will never forget you, Al, and to me you'll always be my younger cousin, Allen.
Dearest Gillian, I am so happy that we got to visit so many times here in the States and in the UK. Getting to know you was such a pleasure, especially during our trip to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. That was the last time the four cousins were together, and you cheerfulness made the visit even better. Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved Al, and let's keep in touch.
