It is with great sadness that the family of Derek John Asplin announces his passing
on 25th July 2023 at the age of 75.
Derek passed away at Peterborough City Hospital and is survived by
his loving wife Delia of 56 years,
his sons Mark and Dale, daughter Sherrie and their wives and partners,
9 grandchildren and
4 great grandchildren.
Derek was born in March, Cambridgeshire on 26th August 1947. He left school at just 14 and started a career as a joiner. He progressed into management and then in 1971 became one of the founding directors of Princebuild Ltd. He spent his entire working career within the construction industry and retired in 2005. Without doubt Princebuild's continued success to this day is testament to his hard work and dedication.
Outside of work Derek raised vast sums of money for charity and was a passionate member of the Peterborough Macmillan Committee. Derek was a devoted family man who will be lovingly missed.
A private funeral service will be held
at 2.30pm on 10th August
at St Helen's Church, Folksworth
PE7 3SS for family members only.
This will be followed by
a Celebration of Life from 3.30pm
at The Holiday Inn West,
Peterborough PE3 6SG,
to which everyone is welcome.
