Suddenly, at home, on Saturday, October 12, 2019, David, much loved brother of Ann, Liz, Matthew and Alastair. Service to be held at Mortonhall Crematorium, Pentland Chapel, on Monday, November 4, 2019, at 11.30 am, to which all friends and family are invited. Family flowers only, please.

I heard of Gassy's passing from my daughter Gemma in edinburgh. Our lives were close for many years but we lost touch when I moved to New Zealand.We re-connected when I last visited scotland for which I am thankful. He was kind, generous, gentle, as daft as a brush and my musical soul mate. His death has left an irreplacable gap in my family and friends lives.

David and I both studied law at Aberdeen University in the 1970s. We lost touch after graduation, but I will always remember him as a kind and gentle person and was saddened to hear of his premature passing.

I was unable to make it along today but I was thinking of Dave this morning. Such a lovely man and a gentle soul with an encyclopedic knowledge of music. He will be very much missed amongst the music buying community of Edinburgh, its environs and farther afield. RIP Dave. So very glad to have know you.
