What a lovely man, always a great support during the good and bad times (very bad), a fine Christian man. The worlds loss is gain for dear Eric. May all his friends remember him and his example.

So sorry to discover, after missing his Christmas card, that Eric has gone to be with His Lord. He was an excellent teacher and tutor to me at college (1981). Then, over the years, though we had few chances to meet up -- London, Luzern, Teddington -- his calm, steady bearing, his interest in others, and above all his ability to listen and empathise, reminded me of the concern Jesus has for each one of his disciples. Eric might be surprised to know he could be such an encourager, but now, with his own struggles over, by God's grace, he rests in peace, ready to meet his Lord 'on that day.'

Eric was very important to me from my student days onwards. His encouragement, understanding, concern and commitment to sharing his love for Christ with others was inspirational.

I have fond memories of Eric from my student days at Stirling University in the early seventies. His mentoring and guidance to our Christian Union committee was invaluable....... aways supportive and delivered with his special injection of humour. He will be missed by many but more so by those nearest and dearest to him.
Thank you for making it possible to be part of this beautiful service to remember and honour Eric, now at peace with his Lord and Saviour. Rest in peace dear Eric xx
