Ian BEGG Obituary
Passed away gently at his home, Ravens'Craig Tower, on November 26, 2017. Cherished and loved by his family and friends. All welcome to interment on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 12 noon in Balmacara Cemetery, followed by a service and celebration of Ian's life in Plockton Hall. No flowers please. Tartan attire appreciated. Donations can be made to Am Bata Boat Building Project, Plockton High School.

A true gentleman with an intense love of his Scotland. I first knew him in Edinburgh's Malta terrace in 1955 and found him again in his tower at Loch Carron in 2016. He asked me how I had found him. I found him the same unpretentious gentleman as I first encountered him years ago. He did not know his status in life. It was easy to find him and rekindle his memories of times past when my wife and I visited unexpectedly two years ago. An unassuming giant of a man in his field.
