Peacefully, at the Marie Curie Hospice Edinburgh, on September 11, 2025, aged 88 years. Dearly loved husband of Eileen, cherished father of David and Louise, beloved grandfather of Emma, Lucy, Christopher, David and Elaine.
Funeral service at Mortonhall Crematorium, Pentland Chapel, on Thursday, October 2, at 1.30 pm and thereafter to the Braid hills Hotel to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. No dark colours please and family flowers only.

Ian was a lovely next door neighbour. Always with a ready smile and a glass of red wine. He will be greatly missed .

Ian was such a wonderful person and gentleman. He was very kind in thought and action. A pleasure to play golf with and share a glass of wine. Good company with some great stories. While I only got to know him in recent years, I I will miss his company on my visits to Edinbrugh.
My thoughts are with his great wife Eileen another caring person and all the family at this sad time. He so kindly game me a present of his beloved Benny putter which I will treasure. May he Rest In Peace
