Peacefully, at Edinburgh Western General Hospital, on December 30, 2022. Jimmy, in his 90th year, loving partner of the late Robert, much loved uncle and former music teacher at Broughton and Firhill.
A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held at The Secret Herb Garden, 32A Old Pentland Rd, Lothianburn, Edinburgh, EH10 7EA, on Monday, January 30, at
1 pm, to which all are invited, following a private cremation.

I was a pupil a Broughton in the 1960's abd subsequently a woodwind teacher in Edinburgh. Jimmy was a great influence in school in my development as a musician. We later met in the 1980's as members of an association of Edinburgh music teachers, discussing teaching issues and playing together. I had a huge regard and respect for Jimmy's piano playing and depth of musical knowledge and was glad to meet him in adult life, enjoying company and his sense of humour! He is always in my memories.
