TOMKIES Mike (West Sussex)
Journalist, Author and lover of wilderness, passed away peacefully, on October 6, 2016, aged 88, beloved brother of Valerie, Richard and the late Maureen and an inspiration to his friends and readers, Funeral service on Friday, October 28, at 10.30 am, at Whitley Bay Cemetery, Blyth Road (The Links), Whitley Bay, NE26 4NH. Donations, requested to a wildlife charity of personal choice. Enquires to E. Turnbull & Son Funeral Directors, North Shields, Tel: 0191 257 1201.

I will be up to Loch Shiel soon. The Black throated Divers will be back along with many other animals that enjoy the area. You gave me a deeper love for the wilderness and its wildlife. Now I want to spend more and more time there. Thanks

I never had the privelage of meeting Mike in person but we did write to each other and had hoped to meet sometime. I am very sad but pray that God rewards Mike for all he did for everyone including so many animals. Be at peace my friend.
