Peacefully, passed away,
on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh.
Norman, much loved husband to Marjorie, loved dad to Malcolm and Joanne, Shen to Louise and Katie, brother to Allan and a dear friend to many.
Funeral service will be held at Mortonhall Crematorium, Pentland Chapel, on Monday, March 3,
at 1.30 pm, to which all are welcome. Family flowers only, please.

Norman was an inspiration to us all. He was so kind to his students. He was my Director of Studies at Edinburgh University 1972-75. I owe him my career. I will never forget his guidance and human warmth. I hear his voice as clearly now as I did during our first meeting in October 1972.
