Beaton Peter Murdoch (Edinburgh / The Hague)
Suddenly, on April 10, 2017, at home at Hollander Straat, The Hague. Peter, beloved husband of Karin, father to Paul, grandfather to Charlotte and much loved brother and father-in-law. Sadly missed by friends and family. Funeral service to be held at Morningside Cemetery, Morningside Drive, Edinburgh, on Thursday, April 20, at 11 am, to which all are welcome and thereafter at the Royal Ettrick Hotel, Ettrick Road, Edinburgh. Family flowers only, please.

I worked for Peter on Private International Law projects for years and was very shocked to hear this news, unfortunately after the funeral. Peter was a great character. Although I hadn't been in contact with him beyond occasional e-mails for a while, I feel I will really miss his sense of humour and passion for what he did. We had a shared affection for Hibs. He had told me he had become a grandfather, and it's really sad that he did not get longer to enjoy that.
