Peter Barr
(Craigentinny / Leith)
Suddenly, at Victoria Manor Care Home, Leith, on October 10, 2024,
Peter, aged 78, loved and loving husband of 54 years to Marion,
adored dad to Donna-Lee and Pete
and treasured grandad to Reese,
Luke, Lois, Ryan, Freya and Flyn.
Much loved father-in-law to Leigh and Lee and beloved brother of Stella and
brother-in-law to Robert, Mags and Peter.
Funeral service at Warriston Crematorium, Lorimer Chapel,
on Friday, October 25, at 1 pm.
The funeral cortege will pass Hibernian FC Stadium at Albion Place, at 12.35 pm,
on the way to Warriston for anyone who would like to show their respects. Family flowers only, please. A retiral collection will be offered in aid of Alzheimer Scotland and Forget Me Notes Choir.
Thank you to all the staff at Victoria Manor Care Home for taking such good care of Peter these past 8 months.

My favourite Liverpool player from Bill Shankly´s 2nd great team of the 70´s. Had the privilege of meeting Peter a couple of times when I was Tommy Smiths carer. A lovely man and a gentleman too. Rest in Peace.

A Hearts´ man all my life, I still admired, often through gritted teeth, the skills and talent of a true Hibernian legend, one of the finest Scottish players of his era.
But it was when he regularly came to coach young players at summer camps - and I joked that we called him "Twinkletoes" - that I had the privilege of getting to know him as a person - generous, warm, fun-loving, willing to give of his time and abilities.
A very fine footballer, and an even finer man.
RIP, Peter.
