Robert Campbell
(Aberdeen)
Peacefully, at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, on June 10, 2024, after a short illness, Dr Robert Campbell Heading, most dearly loved husband
of Anne, father to three children with his late wife Patricia, a dear grandpa and stepfather.
After a distinguished medical and academic career in Edinburgh, the UK and beyond, Bob enjoyed a very happy retirement in rural Aberdeenshire.
Deeply loved, he will be sorely missed and his memory will be forever cherished.
Funeral will be held at Mortonhall Crematorium, Main Chapel, Edinburgh, on Wednesday, June 26, at 11 am.

I knew Dr Heading when he was at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, USA, many years ago. I was so sorry to learn that he had died. My sincere condolences to his family. He was a delightful person to work with. Betty Shearer.

As one of the first specialist nurse practitioners in Scotland I was grateful to Dr Heading for support and guidance in what was an exciting new role for nurses. I well remember case note reviews after each clinic where we would look in detail at every patient seen by the GI team, including his own. Despite going on often till after going home time it was a very educational and supportive team exercise. My condolences to Dr Headings family.
