Robin Lorimer
(Newton Mearns)
Suddenly, on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in Hairmyres Hospital, Robin, retired anaesthetist, aged 86.
Beloved husband of Maureen,
(nee Gazely) and dearly loved dad
of Gillian and Alison.
A private committal service will take place on January 20, followed by a service of Thanksgiving at The Church of Broom, Newton Mearns, at 12 noon, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Hairmyres Hospital for their excellent care.
Family flowers only, please. Donations if desired may be given at the church to the Mtende Community Project.

Robin was a warm, approachable and amicable person and these qualities stood out in all that he did. In his professional life he was a stalwart in the Anaesthetic department and a valued colleague. As well as his skills he was particularly well known as a very effective teacher of the junior anaesthetic staff many of whom still live and work in the Glasgow area.

Very sorry to hear of Robin's death. He was a kind, tolerant, and encouraging teacher in my early years in anaesthetic training. I shall remember him with appreciation and gratitude.
