Aged 87, with family by his side, at Strachan House Care Home, on December 14, 2025. Beloved husband, father and grandfather. Formerly of the Scottish Building Society and the Royal Warrant Holders Association.
A private celebration of his life will take place and any donations would be gratefully received by Alzheimer Scotland.

Willie was my boss in both Abbey National and the Scottish Building Society for many years and he was always a pleasure and fun to work with. We shared so many good times over the years, both as friends and work colleagues.

Mr Munro as I called him was my boss at SBS I was his secretary. He was a great boss. My husband and I also looked after his two dogs Isla and Morag. Condolences to Helen, Jenny and Andrew and family.

I am very saddened to learn of Willies death. He was a fine ambassador for the building society industry in Scotland. He was a genuine and kind business associate respected by those whose path he crossed. Rest easy Willie. Condolences to all the family..
