Janice “Jan” Kaye Duffey

July 8, 1950 – October 16, 2025

Janice Kaye Duffey, lovingly known as “Jan,” passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on October 16, 2025. She was born on July 8, 1950, in Dayton, Ohio, and moved to Columbus in 2002 to be closer to her daughter. Jan dedicated much of her life to working as a teacher’s aide, supporting children with special needs, a role she embraced with deep passion and care. She found joy in gardening, spending time by the ocean, and being surrounded by her animals, family, and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her spunky, lighthearted spirit that made those around her smile.

Jan is survived by her beloved wife of 15 years, Lin Duffey; children Jonathon Currey and his children Jack and Zane; Dan (Loni) Morelock and their children Jessica (great-grandchildren Ariana and Bryson), Jennifer (great-grandchildren Isabella, Isaac, and Israel), and Erika (Chance) Ahlstrom; Holly (John) Mulford and their children Grant, Nolan, and Ayden; Clark (Jessica) Duffey; and Felix Duffey (Vrishin Soman).

She is preceded in death by her son, Joseph Muckensturm III, and her former husband, Joseph Muckensturm II.

A brief service, followed by fellowship, will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Christian Life Church, 221 S. Chillicothe Street, Plain City, OH 43064.

Jan’s love for her family, her compassionate heart, and her joyful character will continue to live on in the memories of all who knew and loved her.
